Helping You Create Lasting Change
Nicole Mizumori, LMFT,
Licensed Clinical Therapist
Welcome to Evolving You Psychotherapy. My name is Nikki and I believe that when we truly feel understood by someone, things begin to shift. When you feel seen and heard without judgment, it becomes easier to untangle the patterns and pain that brought you to therapy. Therapy is a unique space, one where you don’t have to perform, fix, or filter yourself.
Depression & Anxiety
When you feel sad or anxious often or all the time.
Substance Abuse
The uncontrolled use of a substance despite harmful consequences.
Trauma
An event with adverse effects on mental, physical, or emotional well-being.
Codependency
Feelings of “I’m not okay, unless you’re okay.”
Who can benefit from psychotherapy?
If you’re looking for a supportive partnership to help you reflect, better understand the challenges you face, and find the courage to make a change, therapy may be right for you. I listen deeply and offer practical tools to help ease your burdens and support meaningful change.

We are all human – including me.
I’ve been on the client side of therapy from my teens into my 40s. Sitting in that chair shaped me in profound ways. It helped me become more patient, more self-aware, and more grounded in who I am.
Growing up with a loved one who struggled with substance use led me to confront my own codependency. That personal work changed my life. Today, I’m a strong, calm, loving, and independent woman who understands what it means to reclaim your voice and set boundaries. The empowerment I experienced in therapy is something I hope to help my clients experience as well.
Outside the office, I love glamping with my husband, Brian, and our dog, Koda. I’m a foodie at heart and am always on the hunt for the next great restaurant in Seattle. Sushi is probably my favorite cuisine, and I never miss a Sunday during football season when the NFL is on. I also unwind with cooking shows like Top Chef and Tournament of Champions.
My friends are my chosen family here in the Pacific Northwest. Cozy evenings talking for hours fills my cup like nothing else.
Work–life balance is something I value deeply. In graduate school, I was juggling 80-hour weeks between work and school—and I learned the hard way how unsustainable that can be. Rest is not weakness. There is real strength and growth in slowing down.
Professionally, I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist in California and Washington State. I hold both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology and professional counseling, and I’ve completed an additional nine years of advanced training and directing in Psychodrama. I’ve been practicing for 17 years, and I continue to grow and evolve alongside my clients.
Clinical Supervision
In my clinical supervision I strive to create a working alliance targeted toward goals of mastery of specific skills, a broader scope of concern for the client, awareness of one’s own impact on the counseling process, and translation of theory into practice. My supervision style is very collaborative. I have been a clinical supervisor for 7 years and a therapist for 15 years. Supervising other clinicians is a huge passion of mine and love doing this work to further others in their skills and career.
“Nikki has a refined ability in accounting for various factors involved in a case conceptualization while also considering the supervisee’s self of the therapist. She knows how to push supervisees towards competency through fostering critical thinking while providing expert knowledge. The sense of warmth and confidence I feel after a supervision session with Nikki is valuable for tackling a stressful week of therapeutic work.”
What should you expect during your initial consultation?
I’d like to know what brings you to therapy and will also answer any questions you have about my education, experience, and background as a therapist. My philosophy is that when we feel understood by another, we can untangle the issues that lead us into therapy in the first place. This can help us to develop ourselves and our lives on a deeper level.
Therapy is a special opportunity to be understood by another person. My work is about connecting with clients on a genuine, compassionate, and human level. My goal is to provide a safe place for healing and personal growth. I also offer a warm, genuine, and collaborative style to help my clients work towards change. I use a combination of Relational and Experiential approaches to therapy. Let’s begin your journey to a life full of enjoyment!
“Slow down, calm down, don’t worry, don’t hurry, trust the process.”
